Lee & Jenny Boardman - Patrons
Lee has been an actor for twenty years. After beginning his career in classical theatre, he moved into TV and film. He has appeared in many productions at home and abroad, including Coronation Street, Band of Gold, Great Night Out & HBO's Golden Globe winning ROME series. He has appeared in many movies including Emma with Gwyneth Paltrow, London Boulevard with Colin Farrell, HBO's Longford & the recent 3D blockbuster Jack the Giant Slayer. Jenny starred in Coronation Street for three and a half years as Rovers barmaid Geena, BBC's Dalziel & Pascoe for 2 years as PC Kim Spicer and in David Jason's The Quest. She's also appeared in Shameless, The Syndicate and numerous other TV shows. Lee & Jenny are proud to be Patrons of Beechwood as the Centre has been a source of great support to Lee's sister Suzy. The staff at Beechwood provide a unique type of care for all sufferers of cancer of all ages and their families.
Sally Dynevor - Patron
Sally Dynevor is a local actress who lives in Cheshire. Married to Tim, Sally has three Children, Phoebe, Sam and Hatty. Best known for her role as Sally in Coronation Street. Sally has been a supporter of Beechwood for a couple of years and is taking over as Patron in memory of her friend and past Patron Morag Siller.
Shay Given - Patron
Shay Given is a talented Goal Keeper and has been a member of the Irish International Team and currently plays for Aston Villa. Shay has been supporting Beechwood since 2010 when he chose the charity as one of the beneficiaries from the Fashion Kicks event bringing football and fashion together to raise thousands of pounds for charity. Shay has been instrumental in The Butterfly Family Centre and was delighted to officially open the building in August 2012. He was invited to become a Beechwood Patron in September 2013.
Gaynor Morgan - Patron
Gaynor Morgan-Hoole is the daughter of manchester united legend 'Willie Morgan’ one of united’s 'Magnificent 7’s', she lives in Prestbury and is married to Tim with two children Alex and Jessica. She has been involved in lots of exciting projects throughout her life so far, professional tennis player, model, girl band, sky tv, writer - celebrity breakfast column for paramount media, company director of Entertainment Today Ltd an events company she set up with the sole purpose of raising money for charity which was extremely successful after being influenced by her father who ran the Howard keel Golf Classic for 27 years after he retired from football and raised around 3 million pounds for children’s charities. Gaynor left her company when she moved to Portugal in 2006 but now back in the UK and is currently concentrating on property refurbishments, rentals and sales in the UK and Europe. Gaynor lost her own mum in 2004 to cancer and wished she’d known about places like Beechwood at that time as her family suffered greatly with their loss. She has attended our events over the last few years and has become a big supporter of Beechwood and all we do to help those families who lives are changed by the support of the centre.
Warren Smith - Patron
The Lord-Lieutenant of Greater Manchester – Warren Smith was born in Manchester. He is a retired businessman and was appointed a Justice of the Peace in 1983, a Deputy Lieutenant of Greater Manchester in 1995 and High Sheriff of Greater Manchester in 1997-98. In 1992 he became Chairman of the Free Trade Hall Management Company and was founder Chairman of Halogen, the operators of the Bridgewater Hall. In 2000 he became Chairman of The Millennium Quarter Trust which includes URBIS. He was a member of the Architectural Advisory Committee for the extension at Manchester City Art Gallery and a member of the Steering Group that put forward the proposal for The Lowry of which he is an Honorary Member. He is Chairman of Manchester Concert Hall Trust. More recently Warren has been a member of the Advisory Committee for the Appeal to restore the John Rylands Library (£16M) and a member of the Advisory Panel currently raising £6M to refurbish Ordsall Hall. Warren Smith is President of the Council of St John, Honorary Colonel of the Greater Manchester Army Cadet Force and Chairman of Salford Lads' and Girls' Club and Patron of Beechwood Cancer Care Centre.
Luis Troyano - Patron
Luis Troyano who lives in Poynton with his wife Louise and two cats was a finalist on the Great British Bake Off. Since then, Luis has written a baking book called "Bake It Great" and is now a full time writer and baker. He has also been teaching people how to bake at cookery schools as well as catering for events and shows. Luis who lost his father to cancer at the age of 16 was delighted when asked to be a patron for Beechwood offering services close to his heart.
Mike Toolan - Patron
Mike Toolan is presenter of KEY 103’S Breakfast Show. Mike has two children Luca and Lottie and lives in Altrincham. Mike has been actively involved with Beechwood since we were chosen as Cash for Kids Super Hero day, hosting our Ladies Lunch and we are delighted to welcome him to Team Beechwood.
