Parents, Carers & the Wider Family
When there is serious illness, and a possible or actual bereavement, you will naturally have concerns about your children, and how you will all be affected.
We offer parents, carers and the wider family (including grandparents) a safe, supportive and confidential space to explore thoughts, feelings and concerns
Our aim is to support you to find ways forward which will be most helpful to you
Our support may be given on an individual basis, as a couple, or as a family group – whichever is most appropriate for you
Some comments made to us by families who have sought our help:
"Our daughter was very sad and upset. Coming to the Family Support Service has helped her, which has then helped us as a family"
"I found the outreach work useful, especially support for the school on issues concerning the children"
"Coming to Beechwood opened up lines of communication for myself and my son"
"I found it helpful to talk to somebody outside the family, and now I can talk more about my Dad with my children"
"More of these Family Evenings, please – we are all benefiting from them!"
