Complementary Therapies At Beechwood
Relaxation is a key part of the ongoing support we offer to cancer patients here at Beechwood Cancer Care Centre and our range of Complementary Therapies can help patients to achieve a state of relaxation.
All therapists at the Centre are fully qualified and therapies are adapted to be safe for individuals with cancer and life limiting illness.
Aromatherapy is the ancient art and science of using aromatic oils to massage the body. Patients benefit from both the sense of touch and the therapeutic qualities of the oils. Patients’ individual needs and medical backgrounds are taken into account when deciding which, if any oils to use.
Reiki is an ancient Japanese therapy. Reiki means “Universal Life Energy”. Practitioners channel energy using their hands, which are placed on the body, to balance the patient’s energy, resulting in a feeling of deep tranquillity within.
Reflexology is a therapy using pressure points of the feet (or hands). A natural therapy, which aims to balance the body, resulting in a relaxing, soothing effect throughout the whole person.
