Carers Programme

The Carers Programme includes the same four elements as the Patients Programme, except that, due to difficulties in  taking a full day out from caring, the programme has been adapted.

Initially carers attend a series of six two hour sessions, with a nurse therapist.

These include a one to one appointment and a complementary therapy.

Following this carers then come together for two and a half hours one afternoon a week, for  a series of topic/ expressive groups and relaxation sessions.

Joining a  group can  be useful in reducing feelings of isolation. The fact that all group members are facing the same isolation and confusion, can be a powerful bonding force and when the group ends friendships can continue
