Support Groups
The support groups associated with Beechwood are mainly run by ex-patients who wish to help others in a similar position to themselves.
Friends & Family Cancer Support Group
AIM:
To offer support and friendship to ex-patients, families and friends.
MEMBERSHIP:
Membership is open to ALL residents of Stockport and surrounding area, over 18 years of age.
MEETINGS:
Every other Friday at 10:00 a.m. at the Beechwood Centre.
COST:
There is no annual subscription however members are asked to contribute £1 per session to cover the cost of hire of the room, a drink and biscuits etc.
ACTIVITIES:
Two outings are arranged each year and a Christmas meal is booked at a restaurant approved by the members.
Also in December, a buffet meal is prepared by the Committee members in the Beechwood Lounge, with presents and entertainment.
Other activities include invited speakers on a wide variety of subjects, bingo and quiz sessions, socials etc.
