The Beechwood Carers' Support Programme
Taking on the role of carer for someone living with cancer or other life limiting conditions can have a deep psychological and emotional impact.
At Beechwood we give support within a safe environment, providing the opportunity to acknowledge, express and explore deeper feelings and help deal with the stress those feelings bring. Carers are fully supported in identifying their needs and developing ways to meet them
We will help you to express your feelings, communicate your needs and help you cope. As a result you will feel more able to care for someone and take good care of yourself.
The Programme Format
The programme is based on 6 individual 2 hour weekly sessions and 8 weekly 2 and a half hour group sessions.
The individual sessions will consist of an hour long one-to-one session with the Nurse or Therapist to allow expression of emotions confidentially, and a complementary therapy to aid relaxation.
