Macmillan Cancer Support and Beechwood Cancer Care, have worked together to develop the Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Service. We offer people affected by cancer access to good quality, comprehensive and appropriate information and support. The service is staffed by an information and support manager, supported by trained volunteers. Some of our volunteers have personal experience of living with cancer. We can put you in touch with complementary therapists and counselling services and refer you to other professionals or voluntary organisations. |
We offer emotional support and practical information to anyone affected by cancer, their relatives, riends and carers, in a relaxed and confidential environment. We can help you choose information about: • benefits and financial advice or refer you to a Macmillan welfare rights officer • cancer screening and health awareness • specific cancers, cancer services and treatments. |
Where can I get travel insurance and go on holiday where I know care and support is available? How do I get a Macmillan grant? Do you have details of local or national support organisations? "I was able to talk to someone about how I felt about cancer in a relaxing environment." Information service visitor |
The service is based at Beechwood Cancer Care Centre, in a warm and friendly atmosphere. We are open Monday to Friday 9am to 4pm (except Bank Holidays). You do not need to make an appointment, just drop in, telephone or email us.
